Katie Holmes has replaced Liv Tyler in new film The Romantics, it has emerged. According to Daily Variety, the actress stepped in at the last moment after the Armageddon actress dropped out of the project. The actress will now share the screen with Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Malin Akerman and Elijah Wood in the romantic comedy. The story of the film revolves around eight friends from college who reunite for a wedding. The shooting is set to kick off in New York later this week.

Actress Liv Tyler has laughed off reports she’s expecting her second child after drawing attention with a fuller figure. The Lord of the Rings beauty has a four-year-old son, Milo, with her ex-husband Royston Langdon. Theater veteran Jeremy Strong will play opposite Liv Tyler in the film The Romantics, according to a report in Variety. Galt Niederhoffer has written the screenplay (based on her novel) and will direct. The story takes place on the eve of a seaside wedding celebration. Seven close friends convene to watch two of their pals get married. Laura (Tyler) is the maid of honor, but she and the bride have had a long rivalry over the groom. Strong played Richard Rich in the recent Broadway revival of A Man for All Seasons, with Off-Broadway credits including Our House and New Jerusalem, for which he received a Lucille Lortel nomination. Prior films include The Happening and Humboldt County.
